DIVINE LAKE 'S

 Here i want to share 2 beautiful place of my district which i visited many times and very close to my heart .  

Sitting as one of the most idyllic holiday destinations in lap of Himachal, Mandi is a hill retreat blessed with a unique blend of rustic landscapes, cultural extravaganza and culinary delight. The town is indeed a traveler's paradise hiding in its store, an array of activities and religious sites that leave them with an unforgettable holiday experience to cherish for life.

REWALSAR LAKE :

Considered as one of the most sacred lakes of Himachal Pradesh, Rewalsar Lake is revered by the people of different religions- Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist. Tibetan Buddhist calls it by the name of Tso-Pema, the lotus lake. Legend has it that the king of Mandi tried to kill Guru Padmasambhava when he got to know that his daughter Mandarava is running off with him. The king tried to ruin their love by cursing them to die in a fire. By using his supernatural powers, Padmasambhava transformed the funeral pyre into a lake of sesame oil, surrounded by a ring of fire. In the middle of the fire bloomed a huge lotus flower on which Guru Padmasambhava was seated surrounded by rainbows and clouds. People even say that the Guru Padmasambhava's (Guru Rinpoche) spirit resides in this lake in the form of a tiny reed flowing in the river..

PRASHER LAKE :

Prashar Lake is about 48km north of a small town in Mandi region of Himachal Pradesh in India.   I got to know about this place from a friend who spoke of a place where there was a lake and there was an island and in the middle of Lake which keeps changing its position. This got me interested. The more I searched about this place the more I was attracted to it.
Prashar Lake is one of the eldest lakes known to people in this region. It was apparently made by Bhim from the Mahabharata era. According to the stories saint Prashar meditated here for years. Some locals say it was on the island floating in the lake where Prashar Muni meditated. To this date this lake is considered a holy lake.
There are many mysteries surrounding this lake, like the depth of this lake is unknown. Rumors have it that people in past have witnessed 20 meter tall trees disappear in this lake without a trace.
so it is very soothing to go to these beautiful lakes for the mental calmness  again and again and to spend some time alone ...
